Part 1 The analysis of the teaching material

My teaching is the Section A of unit 7 will people have robots taken from grade 8 for Middle School. It mainly talks about the predictions of our future. As the beginning of this unit, this period of “welcome to the unit” playsa very important part in the English teaching of this unit. Through setting various activities, it will arouse the students’ interests and le-t them get a general understanding of this unit, which will be goo--d for the following studying.

Part 2 The analysis of the learners

Since the learners are students of Grade two, it is very importa-nt to help them to form a good habit of learning in class. The lear-ners are sensitive to new knowledge, eager to participate in activit-y and they are rich in imagination.

Part 3 Teaching aims

According to the students’ English level and new standard of English, the teaching objectives are as follows:

(1)Encourage the students to practice their oral English and their listening comprehension.

(2)Let them know how to talk about the future and make predictions about the person or places and so on.

(3)Students are expected to be involved in the discussion, practice their oral English, and share their opinions with one another.

Part 6 Teaching procedures

There are five parts in my procedure.

(1) Lead-in

(2) Presentation

(3) Summary

(4) Homework

Step 1 Lead-in

In this section I organized two activities.

Activity 1, have a free chat with the students about their happy holidays to present the topic “predictions”.

Do you enjoy your winter holiday?

Do you want to live on the moon?

Can you guess what will happen in ten years?

Collect the students’ answers and say something about their predictions.

(This activity will arouse the students’interests and focus the-ir attention on our topic “predictions”.)

Activity 2, I will show students some pictures of robots, and I will ask them the questions as follows:

Do you have robots?

Will we have robots in 100 years?

How will the world be different in the future, 100 years from now?

(This section will stimulate the students’ enthusiasm, further more it enables the students to improve their oral English.)

Step 2 Presentation

(1).Language study

students will learn some useful phrases such as “in ten years(十年后),one day & some day(某一天)”.

(2).new structure

Students will learn the form of simple future tense’s affirmative sentence , negative sentence general question.

a. Group work :

Put the students into groups of four to read the conversation in 1c. Ask students to make the similar conversations using the predications in 1a. Get a pair from each group to say their conversation to the whole class.

b. Exercise:

Fill in the blanks with the simple future tense

(1)I __(visit) my uncle tomorrow.

(2)He__(help)you with you English this evening.

(3)We__(have) a meeting tomorrow.

(4)They__(play) soccer if it does not rain tomorrow.

(In this section the students are expected to be involved in the conversation, reinforce the new structure and practice their spoken English, and develop their teamwork skills.)

Step 3 Summary

At the end of the class I will spend a few minutes to summarize what have learned in this class. This stage will reinforce the learning by helping students to refer back to the contents. It is also a time to create a sense of achievement for the class.

Step 4 Homework

There are two tasks of the homework:

1. Ask the students to make and Write down the predictions about themselves in 10 years. (at least five sentences)

2. Ask the students to go over the new words and pre-read the passage.

Part7 Blackboard designs:

Unit 1 Will people have robots? (Section A)

Words: predictions A: Will people use money in 100 years?

robot B: Yes, they will./ No, they won’

will not=won’t

Part 8 Teaching reflection

My teaching reflection includes:

1. Language is the result of \"Acquisition\so the teachers shoul-d provide students with the opportunity to learn independently and fully develop themselves.

2. The designed activities must be related to the students’ interests, the contents and methods must meet the needs of students, or it will not arouse the interest of students, which can not complete the objectives.
