摘要:PURPOSE:To reduce the initial setting error of the roll, and to make possiblethe improvement of the controlling accuracy while the rolling work, by arranging theseparate hydraulic cylinders facing each other on both sides of the thrust bearing of theadhusting device. CONSTITUTION:The yoke 13 is opened by detaching the pins 14a, 14b,of the adjusting device, and the block consisting of cylinders 5, 5', and the thrust bearing4 as one body is incorporated in the chock 2. The roll 1 is incorporated in the chock 2;then the roll 1 and the inner race 4a of the thrust bearing 4 are clamped by clamps 10,11, tightly to leave no clearance. Suitable pressure is applied to cylinders 5, 5', for settingthe roll 1 at the aim position. While the rolling work, cylinders 5, 5', are operatedaccording to the output value of the detector 15, for controlling the position of the endof the roll 1 into constant. Further, the rolling thrust force is operated from the outputvalue, etc., of cylinders 5, 5', and the controlled variable for the position of the roll caliberis operated from the result of above operation and the axial rigidity characteristic.According to this value and the output of the detector 15, the action of cylinders 5, 5', is
controlled, for making possible the rolled product with accurate shape and dimension tobe obtained.
