1、 In Britain, you can find that many social customs are related to hats. If a male guest was calling on his friend, after entering the room, he must take off his hat first. If you are going to attend a dinner party at your relative's or friend's place, when you enter the dining room you should not only take the hat off, but also hang it up or put it on the chair nearby, instead of just putting your hat on the table. When you meet an acquaintance on the street, if you are a female, you only need to nod and smile or say hello to him. But if you are a male, when you meet a female acquaintance, generally you need to take off your hat and how to her. This etiquette (礼仪) is also reflected in the English language. For example, the English idiom \"hat in hand\" just means very respectful. And another idiom \"take one's hat off to (someone)\is \"admire someone\".
In addition, there is a kind of black hat in Britain which is called \"bowler hat\" (It is said that the hat was designed by the London hat-makers Thomas and William Bowler during 1849). It was very popular between gentlemen and businessmen and also became a status symbol of British men. If one wears a bowler hat which is new and straight, people would think highly of him; on the contrary, people would look down on the one who wears a worn bowler. There is a phrase \"a bad hat\" in English, which means a bad guy. Moreover, when people describe something which is black, they say \"as black as a hat\". It may be assumed that it's related to that bowler hat.

2、 Norway shares a long eastern border with Sweden and is bordered by Finland and Russia to the north-east, and the Skagerrak Strait to the south 一 Denmark on the other side of the strait. It has ail extensive coastline, facing the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea. For the last few years, Norway has registered the highest quality of life among the world’s nations. flourishing(繁荣的) state in economic growth. It has recorded social changes in the past decades through the medium of the film. The film market of China has been much better than that of North America, becoming the largest in the world during the first season of 2019.
In the original stage of reform and opening up, old Chinese movies were rescreened and foreign movies dubbed(译制). Audiences' enthusiasm for movies was lighted up by both these practices. In 1979, the attendance of Chinese moviegoers reached a record high of 29. 3 billion. However, televisions and other entertainment activities sprang up in the late 1980s and drew many audiences away from movies when the film market faced a danger.
The employment of a socialist market economy in China in 1992 brought energy again to the film industry. With the introduction of free competition and reforms, it made an abundant recovery and experienced rapid growth. In the same period, China began to introduce overseas movies into the home market, especially those from Hollywood. Despite the argument that foreign movies occupy the space of home-made ones, Chinese movies with increasingly higher quality have gained a firm foothold in the local market with box offices setting several new records. The development of the Internet has added new energy to the Chinese film industry. In 2015,the powerful Internet companies, one called Tencent and another Alibaba, developed their own film arm and began to adapt popular online stories for movies. With big data, more accurate marketing skills can target specific audiences to satisfy their personal preferences. 4、The official opening of Beijing Daxing International Airport caps a long design and building process. Designed by the late architect Zaha Hadid and her Chinese partners, the airport is built for the future, having a terminal the size of 97 soccer grounds — as well as customer-service robots that provide travelers with flight updates and airport information.
Called \"starfish\" by Chinese media for its shape of five concourses(大厅)connected to a main hall, Daxing aims to reduce walking for passengers. The airport authority has promised a distance of no more than 600 meters — about eight minutes of walking — between security checkpoints and the remotest boarding gates.

5、 As more Europeans arrived in America 500 years ago, they were in such great need of the land that they and the native American Indians battled constantly. By the end of the 19th century, most Indian tribes(部落) were moved to reservations. A lot of their children were taken away to hoarding schools to learn to speak English. By the end of the 20th century, more than half of the Native Americans in the US were living in cities. They gave up speaking their old tribal language and only used English. As a result, many Native American languages disappeared and with that their culture.
Today some American Indian languages are usually spoken by the older members of the tribes who still live on the reservations. In North America there are 150—170 languages that have at least one speaker. One ancient language spoken by the Northern Paiute tribe has over 100 speakers.
But the good news is that some of these people are keeping their culture and language alive. They are also receiving help from the National Geographic Society's Enduring Voices project, whose aim is to help languages around the world which are dying out. The team meets these \"last speakers\". The experts interview them and they are recorded with video, pictures and so on. They also tell old stories which are written down in English so people can learn more about the cultures.
Recording the language and culture is only part of the project. The next stage is to pass on the language to the next generation. The Salish tribe is an excellent example of how schools can help. The tribe lives on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. Their language is spoken by about 50 people aged over 75. So now, the local people have set up a

6、 Bikes were invented when people felt the need for stable, fast and efficient vehicles. The idea of making a bike started in the 1790s. It was inspired by a toy.
In 1792,it started off as a Iwo-wheeled part attached to a rigid wooden frame. People would use their feet to move the bike. However, it wasn't really what people were looking for with a lot of faults. It was a kind of transport highly demanding human energy, and the other problem was the poor stability. The front wheel could not turn so one had to get off the bike to turn it. Therefore, there was a need for it to be improved, but it was not the same person who created it that changed it. In 1820 the bike yet again had a new twist. Not only could the front wheel turn, but it was made more comfortable as a back supporter was secured. But one still had to move it by pushing it by feet on the ground.

Hidden under the jungles of the Maya Biosphere Reserve site, more than 60,000 human-made features — homes, canals, highways, and more — have been identified in aerial (从飞机上的)images collected by some international researchers headed by the PAGUNAM Foundation, a Maya cultural and natural heritage organization.
