摘要：The present invention provides methods for inhibiting proliferation ofastrocytes and astrocytic tumor cells. The present invention further provides methodsfor treating a condition associated with a defect in astrocyte proliferation in a subject, andmethods for treating a condition associated with astrocytic tumor cell proliferation in asubject. Additionally, the present invention is directed to pharmaceutical compositionscomprising CD81 protein or nucleic acid and a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier.Finally, the present invention provides a method for determining whether a subject has anastrocytoma, and a method for assessing the efficacy of astrocytoma therapy in a subject.
