As a woman, I have experienced gender discrimination firsthand. It often comes in subtle forms, such as being talked over in meetings or having my ideas dismissed until they are repeated by a male colleague. However, there are also more overt forms of discrimination, such as being paid less than a male counterpart for the same job.

One example of this was when I was working at a marketing agency and found out that a male colleague who had the same job title as me was being paid significantly more. When I brought this up to my boss, he dismissed my concerns and said that my colleague had more experience. However, I knew for a fact that we had the same amount of experience and had even worked on the same projects together.

Another example was when I was interviewing for a job

and was asked if I planned on having children soon. This question was not only inappropriate but also illegal, as it is a form of gender discrimination. However, I knew that if I spoke up about it, I might not get the job.

These experiences are not unique to me, and many women face similar forms of discrimination in the workplace and in other areas of life. It is important for society to recognize and address these issues in order to create a more equal and just world.
