主题写作活动是检验学生是否理解和内化单元目标语言知识的重要而有效的途径之一，也是实现语言交际和语言运用的途径之一。主题写作不仅是基础性的更是能力性的，要求学生对单元目标语言进行再理解、内化、提取和综合，最终转化为综合语言运用能力。在这个过程中，教师要给予方法指导，帮助学生再次理解、巩固单元基础语言结构，全面提升语言运用能力。

三、主题写作活动的意义

确立正确的英语写作教学观念，改变中学英语写作教学的薄弱状况，是主题写作活动的意义所在。在高中英语写作教学中，发展学生的主题写作能力，有利于培养学生思维的广阔性、深刻性和创造性，全面提高学生的综合语言运用能力，为学生的终身学习和全面发展奠定基础。教师要从教学实际出发，寻找方法和突破口，改进写作教学的方法和技巧。教师要善于对课程资源进行挖掘，以顺应不断更新的

课程要求，让主题写作成为巩固和促进基础语言学习、提升学生写作能力的有效途径。

（一） 确立正确的英语写作教学观念

英语写作具有动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习认知属性（Reid, 1993）。学生的英语写作能力必须有写作知识的指导，让学生知道如何写，并在写作过程中将知识转化为能力。许多教师认为，只要学生动笔写作就能提高写作水平，因此一味地要求学生练习写作，但又不教给学生写作知识。学生经过一段时间的努力写作能力仍没有明显提高时，往往会失去写作兴趣。还有些教师认为，学生语法学好了，词汇量大了，阅读面广了，写作水平就会提高，因此在英语教学中花在写作知识学习和训练上的时间远不如听说和阅读的训练多。这些是误导英语写作教学的错误观念。英语写作是动作技能和智力因素相融合的学习结果，在教学实践中二者不可偏颇。

（二） 弥补中学英语教材写作部分的不足

目前绝大多数英语教材在知识学习和技能训练方面都比较关注听、说、读的活动设计，写的活动通常作为巩固环节安排在每个单元或者模块学习之后。写作活动只是要求学生根据课文内容以及提供的相关句型和词汇写作，然而这种写作任务实际上是要求学生对课文进行机械模仿。为什么要这么写？这么写的知识要求有哪些？这些关键性的问题教材没有涉及。这就需要教师补充相关知识。为了弥补教材设计的不足，教师应根据不同的写作教学目标要求，结合写作内容、写作方法、写作文体，补充相关的写作知识和写作策略。在布置写作任务之前或者在写作训练当中，先进行相关的写作知识指导。

四、主题写作活动应遵循的原则

要让主题写作活动发挥最大功效，学生就必须有一定的语言知识积累，才能在写作中提取相关语言素材，为主题写作提供最基础的语料，为系统而持续的主题写作活动打好坚实的语言基础。

（一） 话题内容相关性原则。

要利用单元话题来活跃学生的思维，话题的选择就要有一定的针对性。主题写作要贴近学生的生活，与学生的学习经验、能力和水平

相当。教材为学生进行主题写作提供了语料和方法策略指导，有很强的指导性和示范性，脱离了单元话题的写作难以提高学生的写作能力，也就达不到巩固单元目标语言的效果，更无法全面提升学生的综合语言素质。

（二） 趣味性原则。

由于中学生正处在求知欲最旺盛的年龄段，往往对自己熟悉或感兴趣的内容比较关注，因而教师要善于利用各种活动和形式，激发学生对主题写作的兴趣。当学生的兴趣被激活时，学生写作才有内驱力和创造力，才能发挥最佳水平，写出好作文。

（三） 思维创新性原则。

要让习作体现学生独立的思想、语言和风格，不被教材提供的语言素材所限制，教师就需要在主题写作教学过程中注意培养学生的发散性思维，培养学生对语言的灵活运用及准确表达的能力。创新的过程也是综合语言素质全面提升的过程。

（四） 方法多样性原则。

在确定了写作主题后，写作活动不仅是在教材范文基础上的模仿写作，还可通过多种方法推进，如翻译语句、连句成段、选词填空等。写作完毕，教师可引导学生进行班级大讨论，推荐优秀习作，同学在欣赏学习优秀习作的同时进行小组讨论并质疑，提出改进意见，说出自己对话题的理解，从而培养学生积极的思维能力和语言运用能力（杨文娟，20xx）。

五、主题写作活动课堂实践案例探析 （一） 教材分析

目前笔者所在地区采用的是新编北师大版高中英语教材。这套教材一大优点在于其语言材料的组织都是围绕某个主题展开的。每单元有一个主题，下面每一课都有自己的话题，对于这些话题学生都较感兴趣，有话可说。这样的教材编排特点适合开展主题写作活动。每个单元的前三课或四课是单元话题下的基本词汇、短语、句型和语法项目的学习，Communication Workshop是对单元知识的扩展和综合运用，通常有基于单元话题的写作指导及任务。学生获得的单元基础

语言知识以及他们运用语言知识的准确和熟练程度，完全可以通过话题写作活动来检验和强化，而且主题写作活动可以体现语言学习的价值和意义。

（二） 主题写作教学实例

下面结合新编北师大版高中英语教材第7模块，第21单元的主题写作教学案例进行探析。

本单元的话题是人类生物学，通过单元学习，学生应能够流利地运用单元目标词汇和基本句型来讨论有关人类科学的相关话题。食物、健康和医学是人类生存和发展中永恒的话题。学生对人类科学有较为浓厚的兴趣，所以此单元话题下的写作围绕人类发展展开，贴近学生的生活，易于激发学生的写作兴趣。学生对单元主题词汇和基础语句已经有了一定的掌握和积累，能够用单元基础语言材料组织语句，表达自己的想法。教师在指导学生进行主题写作时，完全可以依托单元话题语料。

克隆人是在人类生物学发展到今天无法回避的话题，但具有极大争议性，这种本身有争议的话题正适合本单元Communication Workshop的写作要求Learn to write a discursive essay，此文体要求学生第一段介绍话题，第二三段分述反面观点及正面观点，最后一段给出个人观点。但由于克隆人在现实世界中还没有出现，同时又远离学生生活，因此为了给学生带来更直观的感受，教师最好课前布置所有同学回家观看电影《逃离克隆岛》，这部电影探讨了科隆人及其引发的道德问题。

课堂上教师首先利用大量的与主题相关的图片、电影片段等创设谈论克隆人的氛围，让学生用英语表明自己对克隆人这一科学话题的态度。这一活动激活了学生写作所需的话题词汇，可以作为写前的热身。从交际功能的角度讲，这样的听、说形式的语言活动，不但不会冲击主题写作活动，反而与主题写作教学是相互统一、相互促进的。
