Last Weekend with My Fun Family
Last weekend was so much fun! My family and I did a lot of cool things together. I'm going to tell you all about it.
On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. I went into my parents' bedroom and jumped on their bed to wake them up. \"It's the weekend! It's the weekend!\" I shouted with joy.
My mom groaned and said \"Okay, okay, we're up!\" But my dad just pulled the covers over his head. He always tries to sleep as late as possible on the weekends.
We had pancakes for breakfast. My mom makes the best pancakes ever. She lets me pour the batter onto the griddle and everything. I can never resist licking the spoon and bowl when we're done!
After breakfast, we all got dressed and packed up for a fun day. My dad loaded everthing into the car - a cooler full of
snacks and drinks, some beach toys, towels, you name it. We were going to the lake!
When we got to the lake, I was so excited I could hardly stand it. I put on my swimsuit as fast as I could and raced down to the water. The lake was pretty cold, but I didn't care. I splashed around for a while until my dad came in with me. Then we had a contest to see who could make the biggest splash. I won for sure!
My mom hung out on the beach for a little while, but then she came into the water too. We played mermaids and pirates together for a long time. Mom was the mermaid and dad and I took turns being the pirate, trying to capture her and make her walk the plank. It was hilarious!
After a few hours of swimming and playing, we dried off and had a picnic lunch that mom packed. We had sandwiches, carrot sticks, grapes, and even some cookies for dessert. Yum! Once our food settled, dad suggested we go on a hike around part of the lake. I was getting a little tired from all the swimming, but I didn't want to miss out on anything. We saw lots of cool nature things on the hike like birds, squirrels, and even a family of deer!
When we got back to the car, I fell asleep on the drive home. Swimming and hiking really took it out of me! When we got home, we were all pretty beat, so we just had a relaxing evening watching movies together.
On Sunday, we slept in a little later. For breakfast, dad made his famous chocolate chip pancakes. I usually have a hard time deciding between plain and chocolate chip pancakes, but on this morning it was an easy choice.
After breakfast, we spent a couple hours cleaning and doing some chores around the house. I had to tidy my room, which is never my favorite activity. But I tried to get it done quickly so we could have fun again soon.
Once our chores were over, mom took us to this trampoline park downtown that just opened up. It was SO COOL! There were tons of different trampolines all connected into one huge area. You could literally trampoline for miles!
I jumped and bounced and flipped for what felt like forever. Mom and dad couldn't really keep up with me, but they tried their best. At one point, we were attempting flips into the foam pit, and I ended up doing a belly flop while mom and dad were cracking up laughing at me. I was laughing too though!
After the trampoline park, we were all absolutely exhausted. We stopped for some pizza on the way home, and then we just vegged out on the couch watching movies again for the rest of the night.
I had such an awesome weekend with my family. We were active and did tons of fun things, but we also had plenty of time to just relax together too. My mom and dad are the best parents ever - they make sure we balance activity and downtime just right. I feel so lucky to have a fun family like mine. I can't wait for next weekend's adventures!

What My Family Did Last Weekend
Last weekend was so much fun! My family always does fun things together on the weekends. We went to the park, had a picnic, played games, and more. Let me tell you all about it! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was so excited. I went downstairs and my mom was already making breakfast. She made my favorite - pancakes! While she cooked, I set the table like a good helper. My dad came down next and gave me a big hug. \"Good morning, sport!\" he said. I love when he calls me that.
After breakfast, we all got ready to go to the park. My mom packed a huge picnic basket full of sandwiches, fruits, veggies, chips, cookies, and lemonade. My dad loaded up the car with our blanket, frisbee, football, and other outdoor toys. I brought my skateboard and bike so I could ride around the park.
When we got to the park, we found the perfect shady spot under a big oak tree to set up our picnic. We laid out the blanket and unpacked all the yummy food. I was starving! We made plates piled high with all our favorite snacks. I drank almost a whole bottle of lemonade because it was such a hot day. Once we were done eating, it was time to play! Dad and I threw the football back and forth for a while. He showed me how to throw a perfect spiral. Mom played frisbee with my little sister. I tried skateboarding and bike riding on the park paths for a little bit too. I scraped my knee when I fell off my skateboard, but Dad put a Batman band-aid on it so I felt much better.
After we had played for a couple hours, we all started to get hot and tired. We found a shady spot and my parents pulled out a book to read to me and my sister. It was Charlotte's Web, one of my favorite stories! I love hearing about Wilbur the pig and Charlotte the spider. My sister fell asleep about halfway through, she was so tuckered out.
When the book was over, we packed up all our stuff and headed home. In the car, we all talked about our favorite parts of the day. Mine was playing football with Dad. His was watching me skateboard (even though I fell!). Mom loved reading to us. My sister said her favorite was eating the picnic snacks.
When we got home, we were all pretty tired. We rested for a little while, and then my dad fired up the grill for a barbecue dinner. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and more. I stuffed myself again because the food was so good! After dinner, we had one last activity. We all got into our pajamas and piled onto the couch to watch a movie together. We watched The Lion King, which is another one of my favorites. I got a little sleepy towards the end, but I didn't want to miss anything!
Finally, it was time for bed. I put on my favorite racecar pajamas and snuggled into my bed. What an awesome day! I will never forget that fun Saturday in the park and at home with my whole family. We need to do that every weekend!
The next day was Sunday, and we had more fun family adventures. But I'll have to tell you about those next time. For now, I'm just really glad I got to spend so much quality time with
my mom, dad, and sister last weekend. I have the best family ever!

My Family's Fun Weekend!
Last weekend was so fun! My big family got together and we did lots of cool stuff. I'm going to tell you all about it.
On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was so excited. My cousins Lily and Jack were sleeping over at my house. We jumped on my parents' big bed to wake them up. Then we all went downstairs in our pajamas and had pancakes for breakfast. My mom makes the best pancakes ever! She puts chocolate chips in them just for me. Lily likes blueberries in hers though, which is kind of weird if you ask me.
After breakfast, we got dressed and piled into my dad's truck. We drove over to my aunt and uncle's house to pick them up too. My aunt gave us juice boxes for the drive which was only like 10 minutes but I still drank it all up. When we got to their house, my other cousins Ben and Emma came out too with their mom and dad.
Our family was on the way to the zoo! I was so psyched. I love seeing all the cool animals like the monkeys, elephants, and
tigers. Ben said he was gonna see if he could outrun the cheetah but my dad said absolutely not because we'd all get kicked out. We had to take two cars to fit everybody. I wished we could've taken a limo but I guess zoos don't have lots of limo parking. Once we got to the zoo, we all had to wait in a really long line to get our tickets. Lily and Jack were getting bored so I made up a game where we had to find words that started with every letter of the alphabet on people's shirts. Like A was easy because there was an Atlanta Braves shirt. That helped pass the time until we could finally go inside.
First we went to the reptile house because that's my favorite. I got to see this humongous snake that was longer than a school bus! I wanted to take him home as a pet but my mom said no way. We saw alligators and lizards and all kinds of creepy crawly stuff in there. Ben said he wasn't scared but I could tell he was lying because he kept flinching whenever one of the snakes hissed.
Next was the bird exhibit which was awesome. We got to go inside this huge cage and birds were flying all around us! One even landed on Emma's head and she started freaking out. My uncle had to shoo it off. I wanted one to land on me but no such
luck. We did get to feed the parrots and parakeets though which was so fun. They ate the food right out of our hands!
After that, we went to the aquarium part. They had massive tanks with sharks, rays, and fish of every color. My favorite were the clown fish because they make me think of Nemo! Lily said her favorite were the dolphins because they're so smart. I wasn't that into the aquarium to be honest because I like animals you can pet better. You obviously can't pet sharks unless you want your arm bit off.
We took a break then and had a picnic lunch that my mom and aunt packed for all of us. We had PB&J sandwiches, baby carrots, apple slices, and chips. My aunt made her famous chocolate chip cookies too which is why she's my favorite aunt. Well, my only aunt but still my favorite! Lily and Emma had a food fight with some baby carrots but then my uncle made them stop because he's no fun.
Our last stops were the petting zoo and carousel. First we went to the petting zoo and got to brush and feed all the goats, sheep, chickens, and other farm animals. A goat tried to eat Ben's shirt but he didn't think it was very funny. I just laughed at him. The best part was when we got to ride the ponies! We all took turns and I wished I could've ridden for longer.
Finally, we went to the carousel before leaving. We had to partner up into teams of two to ride because my parents didn't want any of us falling off. I was with Jack and we totally had the coolest horse that went up and down. Lily and Emma just had a boring one that stayed at the same level. Ben had to ride with my dad because there was an odd number of kids. I'm pretty sure he was embarrassed but that's what you get for being mean about the goat earlier!
By the time we left the zoo, we were all pooped. We drove back to my aunt and uncle's house and had pizza for dinner. Us kids got to swim in their pool for a little bit while the adults sat around talking like always. I jumped off the diving board about a million times. Then we had to go home because it was getting late and we were all basically half asleep already in the car. That was pretty much our weekend! We had so much fun at the zoo. I'm lucky I have such a big, awesome family to do fun things with. I can't wait to go again next year! Maybe they'll have baby lions or something crazy like that. A guy can dream, right? Anyways, I better go do my homework now. See ya!

My Exciting Weekend with My Fun Family!
Last weekend was so much fun! My family and I did a bunch of cool things together. I'm going to tell you all about it. On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. I ran into my parents' bedroom and jumped on their bed to wake them up. \"It's Saturday! It's Saturday!\" I shouted. My mom groaned and pulled the covers over her head, but my dad just laughed.
\"Okay, okay, I'm up!\" he said. \"Let's make some pancakes for breakfast.\" We went downstairs to the kitchen and dad got out all the ingredients to make pancake batter from scratch. I helped by cracking the eggs into the bowl (I only got a couple little shells in there!) and mixing everything together with a big wooden spoon.
While the pancakes were cooking on the griddle, my little sister Lily came downstairs in her Paw Patrol pajamas, rubbing her eyes and dragging her stuffed puppy behind her. \"Pancakes?!\" she asked excitedly when she smelled them cooking. She ran over to watch dad flipping them in the air, trying to catch them in the pan. He's an expert pancake flipper! After we ate our yummy pancakes, mom said we were going on a family adventure for the day. We all piled into the minivan and she drove us into the city. When we got there, I saw we were
at the science museum! I loved the science museum. There are so many cool things to see and do there.
The first exhibit we went to was all about outer space. There was a huge model of the solar system hanging from the ceiling that you could walk under. I looked up at all the planets in awe. Saturn was my favorite with its pretty rings. There were also some virtual reality games where you could experience what it's like to walk on the moon or fly a spaceship. So cool!
Next, we went to the hands-on physics section. There were all kinds of fun experiments you could try there. I rolled balls down ramps to see how far they would go at different angles. I made my own little whirlpool by spinning a cylinder of water. And I got to ride on a real hovercraft too! Just like a magic carpet, it floated over a smooth surface without wheels. I didn't want to get off!
After that, we went to check out the dinosaur exhibits. There was a huge T-Rex skeleton that seemed to be looking right at me! I got a little scared until dad reminded me that it was just some really old bones and nothing to be afraid of. Phew! I also got to dig up some fake dinosaur bones in a big sandpit using a brush, just like a real paleontologist.
We took a break from walking around to have a pizza lunch at the museum's cafeteria. Then it was time for the coolest part - the IMAX movie! We watched an awesome 3D movie about deep sea adventures. The images were huge and it felt like we were really underwater exploring shipwrecks and swimming with sharks and whales. At some points, I had to duck because it looked like things were going to hit me in the face!
After the movie, we went to one last exhibit all about the human body. There were some slightly gross things there, like learning how our digestive system works, but also lots of interesting stuff. I got to climb inside this cool plastic model showing all the organs and bones inside a human body. I could even walk through the intestines (don't worry, it didn't smell!). My favorite part was making a 3D selfie that showed what I would look like as a muscular anatomy man. I looked so strong and tough!
We were all pretty tired after walking around the museum all day, so we stopped for some ice cream on the way home. I got a triple chocolate sundae - yum! Lily got her favorite, bubblegum flavor in a waffle cone. She ended up getting more on her face than in her mouth!
When we got home, dad set up the sprinkler in our backyard. Lily and I ran through it a bunch of times to cool off from the hot day. We even convinced mom and dad to join in the fun for a little bit! We all got soaked but it felt so refreshing.
For dinner, we had a backyard picnic of fried chicken, corn on the cob, and watermelon slices. As the sun started to go down, we started our backyard campfire in the firepit. Dad let me roast some marshmallows all by myself. I maybe got a few a little too crispy and burned! Oops. We snuggled up together and dad told some silly campfire stories. Lily and I giggled so hard at his funny voices for each character.
Finally, after the fire died down, we went back inside, put on our pajamas, and cuddled up on the couch together to watch a movie and eat our s'mores. Lily fell asleep before it was even halfway over, all tuckered out from our busy day. I managed to make it to the end, but just barely!
I had such an amazing time with my family last weekend. We made so many wonderful memories together. I'm already counting down the days until our next fun family adventure. I hope we can do something just as exciting again soon. I love my funny, silly family more than anything in the whole wide world!

My Awesome Family's Fun Weekend!
Last weekend was so much fun! My family and I did a bunch of cool stuff together. I'm gonna tell you all about it!
On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. I went downstairs and my mom was already in the kitchen making pancakes! We had a big pancake breakfast together with whipped cream, syrup, strawberries, and bananas. My dad tried to be silly and put way too many toppings on his pancakes so they got all messy. We all laughed at his goofy pancake tower!
After breakfast, my whole family got ready and we drove to the science museum in the city. I love that place! First we went to the dinosaur exhibit. They had these gigantic fossil skeletons of different dinosaurs. My little brother thinks he's a dinosaur expert so he kept telling us all the names and facts about each one. The T-Rex was my favorite because it was so big and scary looking!
Next, we went to the hands-on part of the museum. They had all these cool experiments and activities you could do. I made a little rocket ship and launched it across the room. Then I
got to use levers and pulleys to lift up this heavy weight. My mom tried it too but she could barely lift it an inch! I thought that was really funny.
For lunch, we had pizza at the museum cafeteria. My dad let me and my brother get ice cream cones too, even though Mom said we shouldn't have dessert before eating our pizza. Oops! The ice cream was really good though.
After the museum, we went back home for a little while to rest. I was getting kind of tired from running around the museum all day. My dad set up the sprinkler out in the backyard and me and my brother ran through it for a while to cool off. We had a big water fight and got my mom all wet when she tried to tell us to settle down. Haha!
Later that night, we had a backyard campout! My dad built a fire and we roasted marshmallows. I made a smore but I got a little carried away with the chocolate. When I took a bite, it went everywhere and got all over my face and hands. S'mores are so gooey and delicious though!
We set up our tent in the backyard and went stargazing for a while before bed. I could see so many stars since we live a little out of the city where the sky is really dark. My dad pointed out
the big dipper and some planets to us. I tried to stay up as late as I could, but I ended up falling asleep pretty early.
On Sunday morning, we had a pancake breakfast again because the pancakes were so good the day before. Pancakes are my favorite! This time I helped my mom mix up the batter and she let me flip a few pancakes on the griddle.
After breakfast, our neighbors came over and we all played basket outside for a few hours. I'm not very good at basketball yet, but I had fun trying. My brother is really little so he just kind of rolled the ball back and forth with the neighbors' daughter who is also young.
In the afternoon, we all went to my aunt and uncle's house for a family cookout. All my cousins were there too! The guys grilled burgers and hot dogs while the kids ran around and played games in the yard. We had a jumping contest to see who could jump the farthest. My cousin Billy won, but I came in a close second!
For dinner we had the burgers and hot dogs along with all kinds of other yummy cookout foods. My aunt made her famous potato salad and baked beans that are so good. I probably ate way too much food, but I was just so hungry from playing outside all day. For dessert, my aunt bought a huge watermelon
that we all shared. Watermelon is one of my favorite summer foods!
After dinner, all the cousins put on a talent show for the adults. I juggled some tennis balls for my talent, but I kept dropping them. My little brother did a silly dance andmade everyone laugh. My cousin Emma sang a song she learned in music class. She has such a pretty voice!
By the time we got home that night, I was completely pooped. I could barely keep my eyes open! I had so much fun with my family all weekend though. We always do such fun activities together. My family is the best and I love making awesome weekend memories with them! I can't wait for our next fun family weekend!
