摘要：A socket for connecting a plug connector in the external area of a motor vehicleto a socket housing is described, in which a first plug receiving opening is designed withelectrical contacts for plugging in a plug connector and making an electrical connection,
and having a first cover, which is hinge-connected to the socket housing and which in theclosed position thereof completely seals off the first plug receiving opening and isspring-loaded in the closing direction, wherein a first locking mechanism is provided,which increases the retaining force of the first cover in the closed position thereof andwhich comprises a first retaining element, which yields to a return force and applies anadditional retaining force to the first cover in the closed position thereof in the closingdirection. It is also provided that a second plug receiving opening is formed in the sockethousing, having a data network connection for plugging in a data network plug connectorand for establishing a data network connection, and that a second cover is provided,which is hinge-connected to the socket housing and which in the closed position thereofcompletely seals off the second plug receiving opening and is spring-loaded in theclosing direction.
