摘要：A spermicidally-active vaginal suppository consisting essentially of a solidwater-soluble polymeric material which melts at body temperature, for example, apolyethylene glycol, having dispersed therein minor amounts of a spermicide, forexample, p-nonylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol, a foaming agent operative when thesuppository is dissolved in aqueous media to generate a foam-forming gas, for example,a mixture of a water-soluble bicarbonate and a solid weak acid, and a foam-stabilizingagent which is characterized by containing a surfactant, which is effective to reduce thesurface tension of water to less than 45 dynes per centimeter, for example, sodium laurylsulfate, and lactalbumin.
