摘要：A precipitation-hardenable steel comprises:- and .C.up to 0.03% .Mu.0.2%.Si.0.2% the balance, apart from impurities and incidental elements, being iron. Impuritiesand incidental elements which may be present are stated to be:- .V.0.5% .Ta.1.0% .Cu.0.5%.Be.0.1 .B.0.01 .Zr.0.05 SPHON at the lowest values consistent with economical productionand Ca, Co and Ce residuals from deoxidizing or cleansing additions. The alloy may be hotand cold washed solution treated at 870-980 DEG C, air cooled refrigerated to -75 DEG Cto transform to martensite and finally aged at 425-565 DEG C.
