Touch panel是触控面板的意思。
触控面板是在透明玻璃表面镀上一层氧化锡锑薄膜（ATO Layer）及 保护膜（Hard Coat Layer）而与液晶银幕（LCDMonitor）间则需作防电子讯号干 扰处理（Shielded Layer）。触控面板是触控技术的直接体现，用来感应接触信号，并分析辨认。
触控面板结构包含，感应器(Sensor)、控制器(Controller)及软 体(Software)三部分。感应器即触控面板部分，以接收经接触所输 入的讯息为主；控制器功能在於分析、计算接触点所在位置，并转换类比信号为数位信号，使资讯设备得以接受该输入讯号。

光学式触控面板原理是利用光源接收遮断原理，将面板内布 满光源与接收器并排列成矩阵，当光线遭遮断时，即可得知收不到信号接收器的位置，进而确定其精确位置。
光学式触控面板的 组成元件，包括玻璃基板、红外线发射源、红外线接收器。构造主要将红外线发射装置配放在玻璃面板的左边及下侧，并在右边及上侧设置红外线接收器，当手指或接触物遮断红 外线时，经由接收器所接收的资讯，即可测出接触点的所在矩阵位置。
其优点在于表面为纯玻璃不影响透光率，产品可靠性高，耐刮， 防火性佳，而缺点是防水及防污性差。
